Adrian has wide ranging experience in the field of private sector housing and urban renewal.  Adrian’s particular skills include the development and completion of detailed Neighbourhood Renewal Assessments and the implementation of regeneration/renewal projects including the use of Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPOs).

Adrian has been responsible for the delivery of a large number of Neighbourhood Renewal Areas (NRAs) and CPOs both in and outside of established housing market renewal areas across the country and has secured and delivered one of the country’s largest empty property partnership initiatives in the South East of England.

Adrian has skills in the enforcement of housing conditions using the HHSRS and other housing legislation.

The weekend was coordinated by John Thompson and Partners.  It was attended by some 800 people and sought to begin to shape the future of the area.  The event was supported by Hastings Borough Council and Local Space Housing Association.

Graham Edwards

Graham worked in local government for over 30 years and has extensive experience in urban housing and economic regeneration.  He managed four renewal areas in inner-city Birmingham, delivering a range of private sector housing improvement programmes, and programme-managed a major Single Regeneration Budget and European URBAN Programme.  Graham worked for Advantage West Midlands as a Partnerships Manager supporting a range of economic regeneration activity and became the Chief Executive of the East Birmingham North Solihull Regeneration Zone in 2004.  This organisation was a complex partnership of public, private and community interests, funded by Advantage West Midlands (AWM), and was highly successful in facilitating the development and implementation of an economic regeneration programme in Birmingham & Solihull of over £60 million.  Graham is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.

Martin Brooks
Martin is a qualified Environmental Health Officer and is HHSRS Accredited.  He has 36 yrs experience in Birmingham on the Urban Renewal programme including working with resident groups, elected Members and managing Capital contracts. 

Martin was Head of Private Sector Housing for 3yrs between 2005 and 2008.  He managed a multidisciplinary team dealing with grants and loans and was lead officer for the Private Rented sector.  Martin was also lead officer for implementation of the Private Sector Housing Strategy and Audit Commission inspection of services.  The Strategy achieved 2 stars and excellent prospects of improvement.   

He was Business Manager for the Private Rented sector from 2008 to 2011, managing a team of Environmental Practitioners and was lead officer for HMO (Houses in Multiple Occupation) licensing, enforcement and the Private Tenancy Unit dealing with harassment and eviction.

Martin Molloy
Martin is a former Civil Servant with over 32 Years experience of working for several Government Departments in the West Midlands.  In particular he led for the Government Office for the West Midlands on a number of key Government Initiatives including New Deal for Communities, Neighbourhood Management and Local Area Agreements.  He had more frontline regeneration experience through lengthy secondments to Castle Vale Housing Action Trust and the Kings Norton New Deal for Communities initiative in Birmingham.
