John Downie has been commissioned by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) to set the housing and regeneration paper for the final assessment of competency and registration for prospective Chartered Environmental Health Officers. Read the rest of this entry »

In May 2011, building on their recent very successful work, CRP were offered a further contract by Hastings Borough Council and Local Space Housing Association.  CRP’s first report for Hastings had such an impact that a major regeneration initiative for the area was very quickly approved by Hastings Borough Council.  Read the rest of this entry »

In June 2011 Angus Kennedy was invited to be one of the judges for the 2011 Regeneration and Renewal Awards.

John Downie delivered another successful Urban Regeneration and Housing Renewal programme to students on the MSc Environmental Health at the University of Birmingham.  Feedback was extremely positive.

The 2011 Masterclass was another success.  Four one-day modules took place in London between March and June.  This year delegates could choose to attend all four modules or any one.  Read the rest of this entry »

In March 2011 Angus Kennedy wrote the RTPI’s response to the Select Committee on Regeneration.  Angus is Chair of the Royal Town Planning Institute’s Regeneration Network.

In March 2011 Angus Kennedy was one of the Speakers at a special event to celebrate the achievements of the New Deal for Communities programme as the NDC programme was coming to an end.

In February 2011 Angus Kennedy attended and contributed to the concept meeting for this initiative, organised by Communities and Local Government (CLG) at their headquarters in London.  The meeting was attended by representatives of coastal towns throughout England.

From January to March 2011 John Downie delivered another successful Urban Regeneration and Housing Renewal programme for nineteen students studying for a MSc in Environmental Health at the University of Birmingham School of Geography and Environmental Science.

In October 2010 Angus Kennedy was invited to meet Zac Goldsmith, Environmentalist and Conservative MP, to provide informal advice on regeneration.

The annual Awards Ceremony of the Homes and Communities Agency took place in London in September 2010.  Angus Kennedy was one of the judges, as he has been since 2007.  These awards were formerly the Regeneration and Renewal awards.

In July 2010 John Downie was again appointed by the University of Birmingham to plan and deliver the Urban Regeneration and Housing Renewal module within the MSc Environmental Health.  This module will take place over 3 months in early 2011.

In June 2010 Donald McIntosh was appointed by Urban Living, the West Midlands Housing Market Renewal Pathfinder.  Read the rest of this entry »

In June 2010 as Chair of Cross Keys Housing and Board Member of Opportunity Peterborough Angus Kennedy attended a conference in Peterborough: ‘Reinvigorating a City Centre’.

In May 2010 Angus Kennedy chaired the award panel of the Royal Town Planning Institute’s Regeneration Network, judging the 2010 RTPI Awards.

The 2010 Regeneration Masterclass was another resounding success.  It took place amidst a changing political landscape:  the first two modules, in March and April, were delivered during the final months of the Labour government, while the third module, in May, took place just after the General Election which brought in the new coalition government of Conservatives and Liberal Democrats.
