As an Independent Expert Adviser Angus Kennedy contributed to the Royal Town Planning Institute’s response to the Government’s consultation on the proposed new High Speed Rail Link HS2.

The Journal ‘Housing’ in its July 2011 edition announced the launch of the new Planning for Non Planners programme, which will be developed and presented by CRP on behalf of the Chartered Institute of Housing.  The first course will be offered this autumn. 

The article described the course:  ‘It will enable professionals to understand the new emerging planning system which will have such an important bearing on future housing developments throughout the country. 

‘Angus Kennedy, Programme Director, stated: ‘I am pleased to have been given the opportunity to update the programme that was originally supported by the HCA.  This intensive two day programme will bring delegates right up to date with the planning system and enable them to understand how these changes will affect their ability to deliver their priorities at local level.  It will also provide the opportunity to visit significant projects with the key deliverers and discuss the challenges and lessons from them.’Â

CRP have been commissioned to develop and run a key new Planning for Non-Planners course this autumn by the Chartered Institute of Housing.  The new course will provide crucial guidance and information at a time of radical change in the planning system.  Read the rest of this entry »

Angus Kennedy has been invited to remain on the Royal Town Planning Institute’s Policy and Practice Committee for a further year during 2011.

In March 2011 Angus Kennedy wrote the RTPI’s response to the Select Committee on Regeneration.  Angus is Chair of the Royal Town Planning Institute’s Regeneration Network.

In March 2011 Angus Kennedy attended this event at the invitation of the Directors of Savills.  The event included a debate surrounding ‘Localism and Growth’, with guest speaker Richard McCarthy CBE, Director General CLG.

Angus Kennedy, who is a member of the Academy of Urbanism, attended this annual Awards ceremony and the preceding Awards seminar.  Read the rest of this entry »

In October 2010 Angus Kennedy was a member of one of the RTPI ((Royal Town Planning Institute) panels involved in the recruitment of the Chief Executive.

In July 2010 Angus Kennedy attended a meeting of the Royal Town Planning Institute’s Planning Policy and Practice Committee.  Angus has been a member of this committee since 2008.

In July 2010 CRP were appointed to support Arup in producing a neighbourhood plan for the Bellamy Road area of Mansfield.

In June 2010 Angus Kennedy attended this debate on ‘Planning and the Future’ organised by the West Midlands region of the Royal Town Planning Institute.  The debate took place in Leamington Spa.

In May 2010 Angus Kennedy chaired the award panel of the Royal Town Planning Institute’s Regeneration Network, judging the 2010 RTPI Awards.
