    Planning for Non-Planners Programme, Torbay

In May 2009 the British Urban Regeneration Association (BURA) ran a highly successful Planning for Non-Planners Programme with the Torbay Development Agency.  Angus Kennedy planned and delivered the first day of the programme, which consisted of a seminar day which focussed on the planning policy context and current key issues in planning.  The second day consisted of a study tour of two key schemes which had been proposed as part of the Mayoral Vision for the area, Torre Station and the proposed ‘civic hub’ in Torquay.  Based on the themes covered during the first day, participants visited the sites, critically assessed the proposed plans and considered how to best achieve the regeneration potential of the area.

The programme was rated by 92% of the delegates as ‘Excellent’ overall.
