    In October 2012 Angus Kennedy attended the launch of the Future Homes Commission’s Report.  John Banham, who chaired the Future Homes Commission (established by the Royal Institute of British Architects), outlined the key findings:
    Britain needs a revolution in the scale, quality and funding of home building if we are to have any hope of meeting the housing needs of our growing and changing population.
    The Key Recommendations were :
    the need for 300,000 new homes a year;
    an independent, more consumer oriented housing market.

    He stressed the need for a lead role for Local Authorities.

    Mavis MacDonald outlined that institutions want to innovate in rented housing and this should be encouraged and facilitated.
