    Planning for Non-Planners September 2011

    The first of the new Planning for Non-Planners Courses took place on 28 and 29 September 2011 in Birmingham and was very well received by delegates.  Both days were rated highly, with the site visit to a regeneration project on Day 2 rated ‘Very Good’ by 100% of the delegates.  Angus Kennedy was course Director on behalf of the Chartered Institute of Housing.

    All delegates rated Day 1 either ‘Good’ or ‘Very Good’ Some of the comments on Day 1 were:
    ‘A whistle stop tour that has re-enforced the view that planning is complex and has to balance many competing views. An enjoyable day.’
    ‘Really enjoyable day. Lots of information succinctly delivered which really helped my understanding of the planning agenda.’
    ‘The course demonstrated the state of change and uncertainty that planning finds itself in. It is clear that the future isn’t.’
    ‘The course will help me to improve my collaboration with the local planning department as I now understand their challenges.’
    ‘Excellent course which improved my knowledge of the planning process.’

    Every single delegate rated Day 2 ‘Very Good’. Some of the detailed comments on Day 2 (which included a detailed Site Visit to a regeneration project) were:
